In today's world, teenagers are constantly bombarded by advertisements promoting branded products and a luxurious lifestyle. Many young people feel pressured to own expensive items just to fit in with their peers.

I once purchased a branded pair of sneakers that cost nearly three hundred ringgit simply because my favourite celebrity endorsed them. Although they looked stylish, I soon realised that they were no more comfortable than my regular shoes, and I deeply regretted wasting my savings on something so unnecessary.

Buying unnecessary items has several disadvantages. It leads to financial strain, encourages materialism and creates a habit of impulsive spending. Teenagers who prioritise appearance over practicality often find themselves in debt or dependent on their parents for money.

To be a smart consumer, we should distinguish between needs and wants before making any purchase. Comparing prices, reading product reviews and setting a monthly budget are effective strategies. Most importantly, we must remember that our self-worth is not defined by the brands we wear.

REPORT ON THE VISIT TO BENZYL CHOCOLATE FACTORY, PENANG

1.0 Introduction
On 10 September 2025, forty Form 5 students and three teachers visited Benzyl Chocolate Factory in Penang as part of our school's Industrial Exposure Programme. This report outlines the activities conducted, benefits gained and suggestions for future visits.

2.0 Activities Conducted
Upon arrival, we were given a guided factory tour where we observed the entire chocolate-making process — from roasting cocoa beans to moulding finished products. We then attended an interactive talk by the factory manager, who explained the business operations and marketing strategies. The highlight was a hands-on chocolate-making workshop where each student created their own personalised chocolate bar.

3.0 Benefits Gained
The visit provided students with valuable real-world exposure to the manufacturing industry. We gained knowledge about food production processes, quality control and entrepreneurship. The experience also sparked interest in careers related to food science and business management.

4.0 Suggestions for Improvement
For future visits, I would suggest extending the duration to allow more time for the workshop. Providing printed informational booklets about the factory's history and processes would also enhance the learning experience. Additionally, organising a brief question-and-answer session with factory employees would give students deeper insights into the industry.

The visit was highly educational and enjoyable. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and practical industry knowledge.

Aina and her teammates stared at the notice board in disbelief. Their school had been selected to represent the state in the National Robotics Championship, and the competition was only three weeks away.

The challenge seemed insurmountable. None of them had any experience in robotics, and their school lacked a proper laboratory and equipment. Their classmates laughed at them, saying it was impossible for students from a small rural school to compete against well-funded city schools. On competition day, their hands trembled as they placed their modest robot on the arena floor. Against all expectations, it navigated the obstacle course flawlessly, earning them third place. The auditorium erupted in applause as the team embraced each other with tears of joy.

Standing on that podium, clutching their bronze trophy, Aina smiled at her teammates — and from that day on, they knew that anything was possible.
