I recently finished reading "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, and it has become the most impactful book I have ever read. This beautifully written novel tells the story of Santiago, a shepherd boy who travels from Spain to Egypt in search of a hidden treasure.
The book is special to me because it arrived in my life at a time when I was feeling uncertain about my future. Santiago's journey of self-discovery and perseverance resonated deeply with my own struggles as an SPM student trying to decide my career path.
The most important lesson I learned is that "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." This message taught me to pursue my dreams fearlessly. The book also emphasises that the journey is just as important as the destination and that we should listen to our hearts.
I would highly recommend this book to my friends because it is inspiring, thought-provoking and easy to read. Despite being a short novel, it contains wisdom that can change one's perspective on life.
